The Daffodils William Wordsworth I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought: For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,

반짝이는 물빛보다 더기쁘게 춤을 췄네:
시인인들 어찌 즐겁지 않을손가, 이리 유쾌한꽃들 함께였으니:
난 그저 –- 보고 또 볼 뿐-- 알지 못했지
그 광경이 내게 준 선물 뭐였는가를: 이따금, 멍하니 혹은 시름에 잠겨
내 긴 의자에 누워있으면,
눈 앞에 아른거리네
홀로 있음에 축복인 그 꽃들이;
그러면 내 가슴 기쁨에 넘쳐,
수선화와 함께 춤을 춘다네. |
